Where's the Love for T.J. Duckett???

C'mon Skins fans! With Portis hurt, we've all been begging for that power running back -- that guy who can run 'em over like Riggins, give 'em speed like Stephen Davis, and rack up the TD's like Terry Allen.

Who is this miracle machine? T.J. Duckett:
The Washington Redskins have acquired running back T.J. Duckett from Atlanta as part of a three-team trade, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. Duckett, 25, will bolster their depth at that position with star Clinton Portis recovering from a shoulder injury. The Redskins sent a draft pick to Denver as part of the deal, sources said, and the Broncos sent disgruntled wide receiver Ashley Lelie to the Falcons.
Now don't get me wrong -- I'm a Clinton Portis fan, my son has his jersey (the other one has a LaVar Arrington jersey), and he is an incredible back.

T.J. Duckett though is a powerback who can definitely plow through the line and take blockers with him... knowing he worked with Warrick Dunn is a plus too, because between him and Portis that is a powerful running combination.

Now if we could only figure out what the heck we're doing wrong on defense... any thoughts? What are we missing, the mere threat of #56?

Hasn't Duckett been injury-prone?

Injury prone? Of course, when you play against the REDSKINS you are always prone to being INJURED! BADLY!!!

... or something like that.

He has, but nothing too serious (orthoscopic knee surgery). His numbers were depressed over the last two years thanks to two simple words: Mike. Vick.

I think the Skins are going to be a perfect fit for T.J., especially given Portis' speed and a beefed up line. T.J. just might be the spark to get that running game moving so our WRs can open up a bit!

That doesn't help our D though -- I can't figure it out, what's going wrong on defense???

I'll say it again for all you skin fans. Your Defense will be fine without Lavar. Lavar was a hinderence, not a help.

He is a great athlete, yes, but doesn't understand the team concept. He was always out of position.

How do I know, but he ruined Penn States chances of the national title in 1999. Was out of position which help Minnesota come back to beat PSU, ruining the undefeated season, and on Homecoming.

But I'm not bitter or anything.

T.J. should do well under the new offense. Just give everyone some time, it's still preaseason. But I won't be upset if they do go 0-16.

Go Steelers, Repeat..Repeat..

VC -- what the heck is happening to our defense? Someone (anyone) please explain it to me?

Why do you think anything is "happening" to the defense?

It's preseason. Ask me again after the first real game.

I hear you, Mark. Since the Steelers won the Super Bowl on my birthday, and given their incredible season the year before, they're sure to win again!

Go Big Ben! (and keep your helmet on!!!)
