Allen 56%, Webb 37%

Read 'em and weep, Dems.

A nineteen point spread deserves an "I PITY THE FOOL" from the A-Team!

Is it odd that only 3% were undecided?

Give Webb some time Shaun, he has to get his message out. He has to find one first - they must still be doing internal polls to see what his message should be against Allen.

That actual details of the survey are even more interesting.

In the Northeast of the State they are 46-46. Isn't this Webb stronghold?

Blacks are 57-26 for Webb (not very strong)
Hispanic are 78-22 for Allen (even they are against illegal immegration?)
Librals are 17% for Allen
Conservatives are are 8% for Webb

I'd say those 8% aren't conservative at all.

I think you'll probably find more undecideds in the 451 registered voters who said they weren't likely to vote. They might be more inspired as the election goes on.

Mark, I think the point Shaun is trying to make is that many of the Democrats have been very quick to jump on the poll bandwagon, and now that the numbers are very much against them, they have gone silent.

Seriously, it is time for "horse-race politics" to be put to rest. The only poll that matters is that taken at the election sites on Election Day. These polls may be interesting to look at, but the only people who can really glean any real information out of them are political scientists; the general public usually does not know of the intricacies of polling.

I am happy to be playing catch up in the coming months. I would rather Webb be the underdog at this point.

Jennifer may be right -- Kaine was down by 10pts after all....

Still, 10 ain't 19. ;)

Webb will not be able to get his message out because his amateur staff have no idea how to run a campaign. No one really knows where Webb is on the issues. He hasn't been labeled a flip-flopper... yet.

Well....well...lookit what happens when you let a "Mudrat" in the Henhouse...hey ...like....just maybe the people don't want to elect the old timey George Wallace (you know, like from before the wheelchair)...so please...come back Bill Clinton....all is forgiven....help us...the party is painting Confederate flags on donkeys........

I know polls can be misleading at times, some things just stood at as being odd - bad news for Webb.

I'd rather be up 19 points in any poll, and up millions of dollars for the campaign with 4 months till the election then on the losing end looking up.

What's the money race looking like? $7.5 million for Allen to Webb's $220k plus $100k in debt? Money isn't everything, but it certainly makes one hell of an impact.
